Agenda

DESCRIPTION
In 2014, the Supreme Court decided that invocations in the form of sectarian prayers at local legislative meetings are permitted so long as everyone can participate, “even an atheist.” The Central Florida Freethought Community (CFFC) asked every local government conducting invocations to permit humanists to participate. Since June of 2014, the CFFC has facilitated more than 60 invocations in Central Florida and one in the Florida House of Representatives. CFFC Co-Founders Jocelyn and David Williamson talk about the project, the resistance, and how you can engage your members in a fulfilling project that meets a number of goals you likely already have for your organization.
